"PHOTOS OF PEOPLE FIGHTING BECAUSE OF FUEL SCARCITY"

The issue of fuel scarcity is a bane in the neck of Nigerians but in Abuja a motorist and fuel attendant took the annoyance a step further. Long queues have been recorded in many parts of the country in petrol stations and in situations like this, tempers are high as people are in a hurry to get fuel and leave. In Abuja however, a motorist and a petrol attendant would not keep their fist in their pockets and exchanged ferocious blows.

It is not difficult to deduce that the fight is not unconnected to the fuel scarcity problem as the few stations selling fuel have to deal with impatient customers. The unavailability of fuel has also increased the business of black market distribution as people struggle to purchase fuel and later sell to customers who cannot brace the storm.

The good news however is that the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria have called off their strike action after a meeting with the government. Hopefully, fuel stations will be de-congested and normalcy will be restored. Meanwhile Nigerians took to social media to blame President Muhammadu Buhari for the hardship caused by the fuel scarcity. They also blasted the All Progressives Congress for the way the party promised a lot but few result has been seen so far.
