A woman allegedly killed her husband with a hammer after a threesome with a teenage girl
Chamari Liyanage called herself a “sleep deprived, battered wife”, who was fed up with husband’s sexual behaviour
Chamari Liyanage is accused of beating her husband, Dinendra Athukorala, to death with a hammer, while he was sleepig at their family house in Geraldton, Perth, Australia.
When police officers arrived, the walls of the bedroom were covered in blood and the shivering woman was curled up beside the bed.
According to Liyanage, who was arrested and dragged to court shortly after the murder, her spouse repeatedly forced her into sexual activity with different women and intimidated her. Trying to justify her actions the woman described her husband as a violent, controlling and sexually perverted person.
It is believed Chamari murdered Dinendra over fears their sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl would hurt her career as a doctor. In court she said she had no memory of the incident that occurred in June 2014 and pleaded not guilty to murder. The trial continues.
